About the Workshop
Topic: Counselling 101- Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (Presentation)
This workshop seeks to highlight the efficacy of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in the treatment of various mental disorders. It will provide an overview of the core philosophies, modalities, and assumptions of DBT treatment. It proposes to help clinicians to determine which clients are most suited for DBT and recognize core dialectics found in DBT. The workshop will also identify the 4 Stages and Strategies used in DBT.
Your Presenter
Dr Pearnel Bell
Dr. Bell is a Clinical Psychologist and a Human Resource Consultant, with combined experience of over twenty -five years. She is a seasoned human resource specialist with demonstrated track record of successfully working with organizations in the areas of executive coaching, employee recruitment, training and development, and organization interventions. These skills set have been an asset as she skillfully navigates between workplace empowerment and helping individuals and groups recover from life’s challenges.
She has a Ph.D. in Psychology, Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management. She has taught at several universities in Canada and USA and is a professor at Yorkville University for the past six years. She is the author of nine books. Dr. Bell is an international speaker and has presented at many conferences in the USA and Canada. She has received many awards in the field of psychology.
