Yasus Afari, affectionately called ISUS and is the founder, director and inspiration behind several ground-breaking innovations and initiatives such as Poetry in Motion, Jamaica Poetry Festival and SenYAcum Edutainment.

Yasus is one of Jamaica’s leading Poet based on his extensive travels. He is a Youth Empowerment Specialist, Entrepreneur, Author, Producer, Promoter, Artiste, Philosopher, Workshop Facilitator and Motivational Speaker.

Afari is renown as an advocate and agent of change who has won numerous awards, both locally and internationally, including, JCDC, JAMI, JFM, JAMI, the UN’s World Literary Forum For Peace And Human Rights – International Ambassador of Peace Award 2021, USA-CPR Lifetime Achievement Award for Poetry - US Poetry Month 2021, Medellin Poetry Festival Award, Welsh Government Black History Month Award, among many others.

Yasus has authored books and albums and appeared on Black Uhuru’s Grammy nominated album, Black Uhuru Strongg. He’s currently full-joying chart success and critical acclaim for Plain & Simple (with his 9 years old daughter Mik) and has a current hit single, Golden Spoon Maroon, which is being distributed by VP Records. Both songs are from his upcoming album, which shall feature Beres Hammond and Ini Kamoze, among others.
